Delhi Public School, Serrvodaya Nagar, staged its Annual Concert ‘Jashn-e-Bachpan 2019’ at Delhi Public School, Azaad Nagar on Sunday, 24th November, 2019. The programme was based on the theme of ‘The seven wonders of the world’ and the children took the enthusiastic audience on a whirlwind journey across the world with their spectacular performances’ Pro Vice Chairperson Ma’am Bandana Misra was the Chief Guest, Founder Sir Alok Misra graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour, Member of the Managing Committee Mr. Devavrata Misra, Principal of D.P.S. Azaad Nagar Mrs. Rachna Mohotra and Principal of D.P.S. Barra Mrs. Shilpa Manish graced the occasion by their benign presence.

The beautiful journey of Delhi Public School, Serrvodaya Nagar across the globe to the seven wonders of the world was exuberantly presented by the students of class V in a curtain raiser wherein they seeked the blessings of Lord Ganesha, the divine power, the God of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune as a mark of a new beginning or the start of a .The Pre-Primary toddlers presented a dance “HAPPY VALLEY” based on the theme ‘Seven Wonders of Kids’ wherein our tiny toddlers lived their fantasies by dressing up in colourful and vibrant costumes like their favourite cartoons.

The students of class I created the magical spirit of Mexico on stage through their performance “MEXICAN FIESTA”.. Through their dance the students brought to life the ancient, historical and traditional culture of Mexico.

Taj Mahal “THE CROWN OF PALACES” is one of the seven wonders of the world. It is regarded as the jewel of muslim art in India and one of the universally admired master pieces of the world’s heritage. The performance “MAHREEN” by class II reflected upon our rich culture and our regional art form. The girls looked exceptionally marvelous in their shimmering flair pants and the boys looked suave and elegant in their attractive black sherwanis. It was a rhythmic and classical dance performance which won a huge round of applause from the audience.

The school choir “CHORDIALLY YOURS” mesmerized the audience with the unforgettable and ever enduring song ‘We are the world’ thereby giving the message of being united to the world.

China being the most popular country in the world is a perfect blend of ancient civilization and rapid modernization. Dance is a millenary tradition of the Chinese culture and the students of class III depicted this beautifully through their jaw dropping performance which took us on a rollercoaster ride to the rich and vibrant country of China with the ‘Great wall of China’ as its back drop. The children showcased their talent through a dance using vivid and vibrant Chinese fans, elaborate and stylized movements and ethinically diverse costumes which offered a tantalizing glimpse of the rich and varied culture of China. Class IV presented their spectacular presentation of Brazil through their dance performance “MELANGE”. Brazil is truly the nation of music and dance and this was rightly proved by the Samba dance of the children which was notable for its fast foot work and flowing movements which left the spectators in a trance. The vibrant and colourful attires of the students coupled with exotic props added to the grandeur of the item.

“Trees exhale for us so that we can inhale them to stay alive.” Can we forget that? Let us love trees with every breath we take until we perish. Taking this thought a step forward the students of class IV and salsa presented a skit – “SAVE THE EARTH”.

The school orchestra “MELODY MAKERS” presented the musical talent of the students. The extra ordinarily synchronized and impressive performance of the students created a magical effect on the audience.

A short dance drama was presented by the students of class V to honour their fathers for being their role models and pillars of strength and fountain of wisdom. A permanent, reliable and supportive source of motivation, encouragement, tolerance and acceptance.

The special bond that the children share with their father was very beautifully depicted by the students with full expression and emotions and left the audience touched.

“Freedom in the mind,
Faith in the words
Pride in our souls”

With this thought the students of D.P.S. Serrvodaya Nagar saluted the nation through their grand finale by dancing on patriotic numbers. These enthusiastic performers depicted the unparralled hue of unity in diversity. Which truly is the pride of the nation. Thereby giving this message that patriotism is a virtue that every individual must possess. A country full of patriots certainly makes a better place to live in. Those who are true patriots work towards building their nation in whichever way they can. The programme came to a befitting end with the entry of students dressed up in the Indian army, navy and airforce uniforms giving the message of service before self. Touch the sky with glory and may the Lord of the water be auspicious to us.

The Pro Vice Chairperson Ma’am Bandana Misra congratulated the students and complimented them for showcasing an outstanding programme. Founder Sir Alok Misra praised the students for their exceptional talent. The curtains on the phenomenal Jashn-e-Bachpan came down with the singing of the national anthem.
